Should an operation or further examination under hospital conditions be necessary after a detailed discussion of your illness, the organization of your inpatient hospital admission is carried out via the patient management with a referral slip. In many cases, pre-hospital preparation for the operation is possible.

To shorten the length of stay and for patient-friendly preparation for surgery, we offer prehospital preparation before hospital admission. Together with the patient management and the attending physician, you can discuss any remaining questions and problems before a planned operation. In addition, further examinations are carried out which are necessary before a planned operation:

• Questionaire about previous illnesses
• Taking the necessary blood tests
• Registration and, if necessary, performing any required examinations such as ECG, X-ray or sonography examinations
• Consultation with the anesthesiologist
• Arranging appointments for inpatient admission and the required operation

With this service, we would like to make it possible for you to be operated on the day of admission, if possible, and thus remain in your familiar surroundings as long as possible.

In case of an emergency, admission of a patient is possible at any time via the central emergency room of the University Hospital. Access by car is via Leipziger Straße. The emergency room is signposted in the immediate vicinity.
